Automated Intelligence is thrilled to sponsor Friends School for the 2023 year of the FIRST Tech Challenge UK and Ireland. Friends School, situated in Lisburn, Co. Down, took part in the NI Regional Competition on Friday 10th March and won the two awards on offer, both the Robotics challenge and the Inspire award. They will now go on to compete in the UK finals held at Cambridge University in June.
The initiative, organised by FIRST, seeks to “Empower young people to explore, challenge and grow into innovators who will take on tomorrow’s challenges.” It provides young people soft skills and tech know-how to help with their studies through partnering up with mentors to design robots and compete in tournaments.
Our CEO, Simon Cole, said: “It is an exciting initiative for young people to be involved in. This gives them an amazing opportunity to become immersed in the latest tech, designing, problem solving, creating and competing. We are proud to be involved and to sponsor Friends School, they have some of the brightest students who I’m sure will be the tech leaders of tomorrow and their victory at the NI Regional Competition reinforces this.”
