The Cabinet Office’s David Canning confirmed as speaker for Automated Intelligence’s Think Data for Government Sponsored Session

David Canning, Head of Digital Knowledge & Information Management at The Cabinet Office, will join us as a speaker at our upcoming Think Data for Government sponsored session.

The virtual event “Think Data for Government” will take place on Wednesday 2 March from 9.25am – 3.30pm and looks at how data is now the number one asset for public sector organisations wishing to transform outcomes for citizens, covering both the vast opportunities and challenges for public sector bodies when it comes to their data.

Our fireside chat session will take place from 11.30am – 11.50am entitled, “Appraising information for value and risk – empowering decision-making through discovery.” Hosted by David Bicknell, Principal Analyst, Technology Thematic Research at GlobalData, AI’s CEO, Simon Cole, will discuss digital transformation, digital appraisal and data discovery, including how insights are critical for decision-making.

David has over 30 years’ experience in Government, including ten years at The Cabinet Office, where he is leading a programme to create a fully digital records and archives function by 2024.  He also leads a team providing critical business support and business performance management across the department.

David will join our sponsored session to discuss the challenges faced, lessons learnt and changing landscape from his experience managing the growing volume of digital records within the Cabinet Office. Furthermore, David will address compliance and risk and plans going forward for their digital appraisal methodology.
