Last week, Automated Intelligence teamed up with Microsoft and LGMA (Local Government Management Authority) to present a SharePoint Workshop to Irish Local Authorities in Offaly. The workshop gave delegates an opportunity to get a deeper understanding of how SharePoint can be utilised for Records Management and help with GDPR requirements.

Information managers from 13 local authorities across the country attended the workshop to see how they can achieve their Records Management strategy using SharePoint and Office 365.

Ian Carter, Local Government Account Manager at Automated Intelligence said, “We were delighted to take part in the LGMA / Microsoft day hosted by Offaly County Council. This was an excellent opportunity to meet with representatives from local authorities in the Republic of Ireland and discuss their thoughts on using SharePoint as a platform for EDRMS and the other solutions that are provided under the Office 365 licence.”

Speaking about the challenges that the Local Authorities are facing, Ian said, “Irish councils have the same drivers as those in Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom – cost and efficiency savings and compliance under new data protection regulations, such as GDPR. Working in partnership with Microsoft, AI can support Irish local authorities and is keen to develop relationships with each authority over the coming months.”

Automated Intelligence recently launched a solution specifically for Local Government Authorities, Local Government Accelerator. Built using the Local Government Classification Schema, it’s the quickest and least complicated way to implement a standardised SharePoint infrastructure that can be rolled out in phases.

With many Local Government organisations hoping to make the transition from legacy systems to Office 365 and SharePoint, the Local Government Accelerator gives them full control over how and when they move their organisation onto the digital platform.
