What is your job role?

I’m a Senior Services Consultant in Automated Intelligence, working in the Customer Success team.

How did you start your role in AI and have progressed?

I embarked on my journey in Automated Intelligence in 2016, as an Intern within the Professional Services team during my placement year. In July 2019, after finishing my University course, I re-joined the company as a Graduate Services Consultant, ready to build upon the foundation I had established during my placement year. I then progressed to a Services Consultant the year after and in 2021 was promoted to Senior Services Consultant.

Why did you want to work in IT / software industry?

I always enjoyed IT in school and found it to be my best subject. With the ever-expanding job market and the fact that IT is used in so many jobs, I decided to study it at University. During my placement year at Automated Intelligence, I experienced how amazing it is to work in an IT company and it gave me the drive to study hard during my final year of university and get back to Automated Intelligence to learn even more.

Would you encourage women to join the industry or a similar role?

Absolutely. There is a common misconception that the IT industry revolves solely around coding, which couldn’t be further from the truth. There are of course engineering jobs but there are also customer facing roles, support, QA to name just a few. While my own role in Automated Intelligence does involve some coding, I am far from being a coding expert. The benefits of working in this industry are very good as well. In Automated Intelligence, we have hybrid working, health care, employee perk card and free parking.
