Job Description

Main purpose of job:

Senior role in architecting, implementing, and supporting complex distributed applications hosted in Microsoft Azure, you will be given the trust and freedom to implement the best solutions within the team.

This is a hands-on development role, where you will be deploying new code daily.

Main duties include: (but not limited to):

  • Work within the Engineering Team to deliver value to our customers with focus on aspects such as performance, reliability, availability, data processing efficiency and security
  • Ensure solutions delivered comply with appropriate quality and security standards
  • Design and implement infrastructure and security technologies within the cloud
  • Stay on the forefront of C# / .NET / Azure and to understand them all at a deep level
  • Drive continuous improvement, both in your own work and across the team
  • Mentoring junior members of the team
  • Provide technical guidance and support to assist all departments within the business in resolving technical problems / challenges, including investigation into specific issues and researching improvements to existing functionality
  • Work with 3rd parties (partners and customers) as required to identify best approaches to solution integration
  • Any other reasonable duties as required

Essential skills:

  • Either a degree (or equivalent) in a computing related discipline and at least 3 years DevOps experience; or at least 5 years DevOps experience
  • Proven ability in architecting distributed software solutions
  • Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Ability to apply automation to infrastructure processes
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience developing with C# / .NET
  • Experience working in a DevOps culture with CI/CD
  • Experience with monitoring and scaling systems
  • The right to work in the UK

Desirable skills:

  • Security Cleared to SC Level or higher
  • Experience developing and deploying solutions to the cloud (preferably Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience working with Elasticsearch including deployment and scaling
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, especially networking and security configuration
  • Experience of working in the FinTech sector
